Father Adam A. Young, Pastor
Fr. Adam A. Young was born and raised in North Kingstown, RI. Father’s home parish is St. Francis de Sales in North Kingstown where his faith was nourished and his vocation to the priesthood grew.
After graduating from North Kingstown High School, he entered Our Lady of Providence Seminary and Providence College from which he earned a B.A. in Philosophy. He was then sent to continue his studies for the priesthood at the Pontifical North American College in Rome. While in Rome he earned an S.T.B. in Theology at the Angelicum University and then an S.T.L. in Patristics (Early Church Theology) at the Gregorian University.
Fr. Young has spent time at St. Thomas More Parish and St. Augustine Parish as an associate pastor. In 2015, he was named pastor of St. Paul Parish in Cranston. On July 1, 2021, Bishop Tobin assigned Fr. Young as the pastor of St. Francis of Assisi parish in Wakefield.
Father Nathan Ricci, weekend Assistant
Fr. Ricci grew up in Warwick, RI and graduated from Bishop Hendricken High School in 2008. He received a B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy from Providence College in 2012 while attending the Seminary of Our Lady of Providence. He was assigned to the Pontifical North American College in Rome and received an S.T.B. in Sacred Theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in 2015. Bishop Tobin ordained Fr. Ricci to the priesthood on June 25, 2016 at the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul in Providence. Fr. Ricci received his J.C.L. in Canon Law from the Pontifical Gregorian University in 2018.
He has served as Assistant Chaplain at Rhode Island Hospital, Assistant Pastor at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Wakefield, Assistant Pastor at St. Francis of Xavier Parish and Assistant Chancellor of the Diocese of Providence. In July of 2020, Fr. Ricci became Vice Chancellor of the Diocese of Providence. He assists at weekend masses at St. Francis Church and St. Romuald Chapel in South Kingstown.
